Dr Lea Kovač graduated at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ljubljana in 2013 and subsequently pursued a speciality training in ophthalmology at the University Eye Hospital in Ljubljana. In the course of residency, she received further clinical training at the Department of Ophthalmology and Optometry of the Medical University in Vienna, where she also completed a Master’s programme in Cognitive Neuroscience in 2016, focusing on the visual brain cortex plasticity in patients with degenerative retinal diseases. Additionally, she spent two months on an observership in strabismus and neuro-ophthalmology at S.Orsola - Malpighi University Hospital in Bologna. She completed ophthalmology residency in 2020 and she is currently working at the University Eye Hospital in Ljubljana, with primary clinical and research  interest in neuro-ophthalmology and electrophysiology.
